Big Tech Will Spend Over $800 Billion This Year

Business Insider counted on October 30, 2026 that Amazon, Alphabet, Meta, Microsoft and SpaceX are on track to spend between $803 billion and $828 billion this calendar year, based on their guidance and disclosed fourth-quarter plans. That is broad capital spending, the money for buildings and machines, not just AI. By Business Insider's count the five have spent $556.2 billion so far in 2026, about $227 billion of it in July, August and September.
