Applebee’s Left a Database Password in Its App

TechCrunch reports that a security researcher found the password to Applebee's customer database sitting inside Applebee's own Android app, and used it to pull a fake customer TechCrunch had made straight back out of the real database. TechCrunch says the database held names, email addresses, birthdays, phone numbers and ZIP codes. Dine Brands, Applebee's parent company, says it has not currently found any evidence of unauthorized access, but wouldn't say if it has logs that could show whether anyone got in.
